Youth

Teamwork Englewood’s Education and Youth work engages youth residents as valued stakeholders of the community. The active involvement of youth residents as co-leaders of spaces that exist with, and for them is important for making sure youth feel safe, a sense of belonging, included and empowered to have ownership and pride within their community. Youth residents participate in the community all year long and in many different ways. Some fun activities include basketball, dance and group outings to amusement parks, basketball games, museums, ice skating, and more.

Youth resident community participation as stakeholders has included interviewing candidates for the youth program associate role and hosting the Spring Youth Summit to gather youth voice and ideas around community issues. Youth residents also organize Summer and Winter Kickbacks for young people and families in the community to enjoy themed parties with fun activities and free resources. Youth residents participation in grant reviewing allows young people to determine youth programming and projects to be supported in the community
