What an incredible night—one we will remember for years to come.
On Saturday, May 30, Teamwork Englewood welcomed community members, partners, supporters, and advocates to Kennedy-King College for our 2026 Spring Fundraiser. This first-of-its-kind event brought together storytelling, justice, art, and community in a powerful and meaningful way.
Guests arrived to a lively cocktail hour filled with conversation, connection, and live music. Many also experienced the Justice Bus, a 40-foot immersive exhibit that offered a deeper understanding of incarceration through virtual reality experiences, interactive displays, and guided discussions. The exhibit challenged perspectives, sparked dialogue, and set the tone for an evening centered on learning and reflection.
The evening’s centerpiece was The Story of Violence, a compelling theatrical production developed through a collaboration between Mud Theatre Project and StillPoint Theatre Collective. Through raw and compelling storytelling, the production explored violence, incarceration, resilience, healing, and hope.
The performance was followed by a powerful panel discussion featuring formerly incarcerated individuals who shared their personal journeys and insights. Their stories offered a moving reminder of the importance of second chances, community support, and creating pathways to opportunity for those returning home.
While the evening inspired reflection and conversation, it also generated meaningful impact. Funds raised through the event will provide critical support for Teamwork Englewood’s Reentry Department, which serves more than 800 justice-impacted individuals each year through programs and services designed to promote stability, growth, and successful reintegration.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and attendees, the event raised more than $17,000 to support Teamwork Englewood’s mission and Re Entry services. Most importantly, the fundraiser demonstrated what is possible when community comes together around a shared vision of restoration, equity, and hope. Every guest, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and partner played a role in making the evening a success.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this unforgettable event possible. Together, we are creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and building a future where every individual has the support they need to thrive.
We look forward to continuing this work—and to seeing you at future Teamwork Englewood events. Ready to get involved? Contact Teamwork Englewood today to learn how you can support our work and become part of the movement.
