On June 5, 2024 we proudly announced that Teamwork Englewood youth program participant Oryon Jackson began serving as an intern in
PepsiCo’s first-ever community-informed internship – Pathways to Readiness and Empowerment Program (PREP).

This program was developed with youth and community leader to design a more effective internship model for companies and communities
like Englewood.

Oryon and two other Teamwork Englewood youth program participants – Kamya Clemons and Tijuan Love – who served as PREP interns shared their thoughts and feelings about their PREP experiences.

Entering the program in June Oryon stated, This internship will teach me about the infrastructure of a corporation and allow me to build the skills and tools needed to become a successful businessman. I love being a part of this program and I can’t wait to see what opportunities are open for me from this.”

Opportunities remain endless for Oryon, Kamya, and Tijuan who were fortunate to be recipients of PepsiCo’s PREP, a commitment which was launched in October 2021.

PepsiCo’s goal with PREP is to invest more than $5 million in local nonprofits with the aim to position nearly 3,000 young people from Chicago’s South and West Sides on the path to high-quality careers by 2026.
